Biology
Little here is allowed to be remembered long enough to be catalogued.
A region more than a world — the Quiet Sector, where cartography fails and travelers return unable to describe where they went. The empire's cleaners erase what cannot be allowed to become public memory.
Morcanthe is both hospital and murder house.
Sky & Weather
Soft gray skies, quiet rain, fog that swallows sound, and cold evenings.
The Quiet Sector
Maps blur around it and records contradict; travelers often return unable to describe where they went. 'Not all truth has a right to remain' is written into Morcant law.
Here trauma is healed by removal and witnesses are erased by the same craft — an assassin court of profound moral ambiguity, where mercy and murder share a single instrument.
The House That Rules It
House Morcant
The First Silence · Mnemonic Deletion · erasure
House Morcant are the erasers — assassins and memory-deletion specialists who remove what cannot be allowed to become public memory. Their discipline, Mnemonic Deletion, is worse than murder: unremembering strips away grief, evidence, and identity at once.
They are difficult to remember clearly — near-human, shadow-blooded, blurred at the edges of memory; people recall their voice before their face. From the Quiet Sector, where maps blur and records contradict, they erase names, make murders ungrievable, build forgotten rooms, and collapse witness testimony.
