Biology

Salt cacti grow in the old seabeds; burrowing root systems hold moisture beneath dead oceans; and dust whales drift through the sky as myth or atmospheric phenomenon. Some believe the planet still breathes through its hidden Mother Wells.

Once the Blue World, now Salt-Dead Terra. Its oceans were drained in the Desiccation and its memory mined — yet beneath the dead seabed lie the Mother Wells, one of the richest sources of adaptive salt in the Veil. Humanity's cradle, shame, and shield.

Birthplace of the hero. The wound of humanity.
01

Sky & Weather

Dust oceans, dry salt storms, razor winds, and hot white plains where oceans used to be — broken by rare miracle rains that are treated as holy events.

02

A Wounded World

Legally it belongs to House Kaelvorix, but after the Damaris betrayal it is contested by Crown-backed Damaris law, and many regions simply follow local survival law. Poor, symbolically priceless, and politically unstable, Earth is not dead — it is wounded.

Its people scrape a living from salt salvage in the old seabeds, dust-glass, atmospheric condensers, water rationing, smuggling, and the repair of old human salt-tech relics.

03

The Moral Crisis

Earth blames House Kaelvorix both for kneeling in the past and for defying too late. The survival of the unoffered heir becomes a moral crisis for the entire planet — a world deciding whether one boy's life is worth a renewed war.

And beneath all of it, hidden under the dead ocean trenches, the Mother Wells wait — the secret that makes this poor world the most valuable in the Veil.

The House That Rules It

House Kaelvorix

Lord / Lady · Atmospheric Memory — the Breath Gift

House Kaelvorix is the Last House of the Blue World — humanity's wound and its proof of survival. They endured the First Salt War because Aren Kaelvorix, the Kneeling Flame, surrendered Earth's oceans to Omoron rather than let the species go extinct. That same ancestor hid Earth's heart — the Mother Wells — beneath the dead seabed, so the House is at once shame and shield.

Their gift is adaptive salt and the Breath Gift, or atmospheric memory. When Earth's oceans were drained, its salt-memory became airborne dust and storm; humans inhaled the dead sea for generations until their salt bodies learned to read breath, pressure, and grief in the air. They hear old memory in ruins, bend salt storms into cover, and can weaponize dry atmosphere into a killing stillness.
