The Ten Great Houses

Beneath the Salt King stand the Ten Great Houses — the highest political powers in the Crowned Veil. Each controls a dominion of worlds, a major salt specialty, a species or bloodline tradition, a title system, a tribute obligation, and a protected monopoly. They are not equal in strength, but they are equal in formal recognition. Open the dossiers in the Court of Ten on the home page for the full record on each.

The Court of Ten

House Kaelvorix (Human) holds adaptive salt and atmospheric memory on Dry Earth. House Xonthos (Aethelian) reads black salt and forbidden recall from the Mirror Rim. House Veyrith (Astralith) commands the Voidweaver fleets through emotional salt. House Ossarym banks memory and legal identity. House Seraphel sings gold-salt oath into law.

House Morcant unremembers — erasure and assassination. House Caldrane keeps the Brine Roads and controls arrival. House Ghalvorn shapes flesh and breeds living weapons. House Thulmarr forges stars into siege-craft. House Qorath calculates causality until the future has no room to escape.

Rise and Fall

A House can rise through salt discovery, marriage, betrayal, imperial appointment, war service, or memory blackmail. A House can fall through salt debt, oath violation, memory erasure, failed tribute, forbidden black-salt possession, or Voidweaver bond collapse.

When House Kaelvorix refuses the Feast, the balance the Ten have held for an age begins, for the first time, to crack.
